Vanessa & Darren: Sedona Wedding Photographer

I love photographing weddings! When its a family member getting married its special. And when my daughter gets to be the flower girl it makes it extra special. To top it off this wedding took place in one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, Sedona, Arizona.

I met Vanessa way back in 1998 when I starting dating my husband. I am happy to call her my cousin and my daughter’s Godmother. She is a beautiful person inside and out and I am glad I got to be a part of her wedding day. She is also super smart and fun to be around. She found a perfect match in Darren. They complement each other very well.

Vanessa and Darren’s ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful L’Auberge de Sedona Resort. It was a gorgeous day in Sedona, AZ. The sun was shining and there was a light breeze. We started the day off with lunch at the resort (Yummy) and then I took some images of Vanessa getting ready. While Vanessa was getting her makeup done I took some detail shots. I thought the rings looked amazing against the red rocks. I loved all the little details that Vanessa and Darren incorporated into their day. I always love it when couples opt to see each other before the ceremony. It makes for some gorgeous “first look” photos! It also allows for more time for the couple to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests because we can get most of the couple and family/bridal party photos done before the ceremony. Here are some images of Vanessa and Darren’s first look and some formals we took of everyone before the ceremony. I just loved the backdrop of the red rocks and trees. The next photo was taken by Chris Bermudo of Chris Bermudo Photography. He drove all the way from Yuma to help me out for the day. Thank you Chris for your help all day as well as getting some behind the scenes of me too. These next images were taken at the top of the resort property with Sedona’s beautiful red rocks in the background. We got some gorgeous images of Vanessa and Darren alone too. They brought along their dog, Coors, for their big day. He was not a part of the ceremony, but he was happy to pose for some photos with his mom and dad. The ceremony took place along the creek on the resort property. It was such a peaceful and beautiful setting. The first part of the reception was outside on the patio. It was a beautiful evening to dine outside. The first dance was so pretty under the stars.  After the first dance the reception moved inside. Everyone had a fun time on the dance floor. Congrats Vanessa and Darren!
