Mini Holiday Sessions 2010: Yuma Photographer

Its that time of year again. Time to book photo sessions for your holiday cards and gifts. I am happy to offer my very popular mini sessions again this year. I have three dates available and I may be adding one more. If you would like to book a mini holiday session please contact me. They go fast. I also have dates available for my regular session packages. Please contact me for availability and a price list.

I will update this post to reflect the availability of my mini sessions.

Date #1: September 26th (Sunday) Location: Gateway Park

Session Times:

4:30pm – 5:15pm

5:30pm – 6:15pm

Date #2 October 3rd (Sunday) Location: West Wetlands Park

Session Times:

4:30pm – 5:15pm booked

5:30pm – 6:15pm

Date #3 October 17th (Sunday) Off Highway 95

Session Times:

4:30pm – 5:15pm booked

5:30pm – 6:15pm booked

Please read the following before booking:

Full payment plus tax is due at the time of session in the form of cash or check.

Mini session prices apply to groups of 6 people or less.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled session so that we can get you situated and start the session on time. Unfortunately, if you are late for your session we cannot make up time at the end. You will receive a call a few days before the session with instructions on where to meet up to ensure everyone is on time.

Keep little ones happy during the session If you need to bring a snack or special treats to accomplish this feel free.

After your session you will receive a password to your gallery via email. Holiday cards can have up to 5 photos on them depending on the template that you choose. The cards are printed on fine art linen or metallic paper. CD packages include a photo release which allows you to order your own cards and prints from the lab of your choice.

Stella & Dot Photo Session: Yuma Photographer

A couple weeks ago I was asked by my good friend Iris if I could do a mommy and me photo session with some of her clients. Iris is a stylist for Stella & Dot jewelry. If you haven’t seen Stella & Dot before you have to give it a look. The jewelry is fun and modern. I loved it all especially the kids pieces. Here is a sneak peek of some Stella & Dot accessories. Both the moms and the daughters in these photos are wearing Stella & Dot.

The session was so much fun! It was the first day when it got REALLY hot here in Yuma. It was 105 during the day. I think it had cooled down a little by the time the session started, but it was still sizzling. The moms and daughters did such a great job. They ALL are so beautiful and they rocked their Stella & Dot jewelry. Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Thank you ladies for putting up with the heat and being such wonderful models! Also, a big thank you to Iris. She jumped up and down behind me and sang some songs to get the kids to smile

Sharp Family: Yuma Photographer

Before it got way too hot here in Yuma I had the pleasure of photographing the Sharp family. They wanted a family photo that said “Arizona” being that they got orders to move across country. I was so glad that I got to capture this family memory for them. I am hoping the boys will treasure these photos when they get older since they may be a little too young to remember Yuma.

It was a pretty nice day when we set out to do the photos, but as soon as I started shooting it got very windy. There was some sand (and hair) blowing around, so it was tricky. I was so glad that the boys did well. I know its challenging at their age to sit still and look happy. They really did great, I think bribing with candy may have helped Here are a few of my faves.

Here is the whole family They decided to order a 16 X20 gallery wrap of this family photo. A gallery wrap is a photo printed on canvas and stretched on a wooden frame (like a painting). It is all ready to hang on the wall as is or you can frame them. I took some photos of the finished product. My lab did a fabulous job printing it. I am not sure these photos do it justice, but I wanted to show the canvas from the side.

A Sweet Birthday Party with Circle the Date Events

My little girl turned three a couple of weeks ago and to celebrate we had a very sweet celebration. My good friend Laurie Davis of Circle the Date Events planned and executed the most adorable party for Ivanka. I knew I wanted to have a candy shop theme and Laurie did such a great job creating a candy buffet for all the guests to enjoy. The kids and adults LOVED it! Laurie also made sure the guests were fed and entertained so I could relax and enjoy the party. She cleaned up too

I loved Laurie’s idea of using the cookies to spell out Ivanka’s name. She also made a frame out of candy.

Ivanka wanted a giant cupcake for her birthday. So I bought one of those molds and made it. I am not a Martha Stewart type so I was excited that it came out with out falling apart. It tasted pretty good too

A couple weeks before the party I took some photos of my girl for her invites and to put out around the party. She wasn’t in a good mood when I took these, but luckily the lollipop brought a smile to her face.

I custom designed her invitations myself and had them printed by my lab on pearl paper which has a metallic sheen. I also printed a 16 X 20 sign to match and displayed it at the party. I was really happy how they turned out. Here is the design for the invites.

Tea & Books : Yuma Photographer

A while ago my friend Iris called me up to schedule a very special photo session with her kids. She plans on giving them to her hubby for Father’s Day. What a nice gift for a dad huh? I was so excited when she told me her idea of having the kids pose with a tea party set. I thought it was such a cute idea. She also wanted to get some images of them reading their favorite books. She even made some chocolate chip cookies for the kids to eat during the session and for me to take home Here are some of my favorites.

We took a couple with balloons too.

I thought it was so funny that their favorite book is one of my daughter’s favorites too. “How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?”

Miss Lily: Yuma Baby Photographer

Miss Lily is one of the happiest and cutest babies I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. Her dad did help a lot with the smiles. He made all kinds of fun animal noises and faces behind me while I was taking the photos. I was very tempted to hire him for all my baby sessions We had so much fun and Lily was a star. Here are just a few from the session.

Dickerson Family: Yuma Photographer

I took these photos when I was still pregnant and I am excited to finally get them up on the blog. I was thrilled when I got an email from Kimberly Dickerson asking me to do some family portraits for her. She had some very interesting ideas for the photo session. I just love when clients come to me with ideas especially when they are a little off the wall. I was especially excited because she wanted to do some photos that had a retro vibe. She even dressed the part and had a cake for a prop. It was fun getting creative and this family is so photogenic too. Here are some of my faves.

We started with some regular jean and t-shirt shots on the bed.

These next ones are retro inspired. I think they have a “Mad Men” feel.

This next one reminds me of “American Gothic” meets “The Godfather”.

I love these next ones.

I had to take some of the adorable Jake by himself. What a cutie huh?

Baby James : Yuma Newborn Photographer

I am so happy to announce that my baby boy has arrived. He is 2 weeks old now and doing well. Our family is so blessed to have him. I couldn’t resist taking some photos of him because I know how fast they grow. These were taken when he was only a couple days old. He already looks much older and does so well in front of the camera

I will be taking very limited sessions this spring and summer because I want to spend some time with my new little guy and his big sis. If you would like to book a session don’t hesitate to call or email me.

Bowmer Family: Yuma Photographer

I am so excited to post these. I had a great time with this family! They are such nice people and to top it off they look like they could be in a J Crew catalog. Aren’t they gorgeous? We took some photos around Downtown Yuma and then went to Wetlands Park. The little guy liked the lollipop, but he seemed to like the iphone even better, but who wouldn’t I had so many I loved, here are a few.

I love these ones. He was happy to have a lollipop, but he didn’t want to hold it by the stick. So cute!

This one is my favorite. I love the emotion in it.

Andrekka Lanier: Yuma Photographer

Andrekka contacted me because she wanted some head shots for her resume. She was named Mrs. Arizona in July 2009 by the My Girl USA Pageant. She has recently earned the title of Mrs. National Queen 2010-2011. The pageant in which she competed focuses on community involvement. Andrekka is an active member of the Yuma community and her platform is helping Yuma’s seniors. She is so photogenic and I had such a great time photographing her. Here are just a few images from her session.
