Kline Family: Yuma Photograher

I have been away from the blog for a bit because I am trying to catch up on things before my baby boy arrives. I am happy to finally be blogging this family session. The Klines are such great people and they all were wonderful during our session. I think we got some really beautiful family images. I even managed to get some of the kids together where they look like they actually like each other :)

Here are some of my faves.

Thank you so much Kline family :)

Miss Maddy: Yuma Newborn Photographer

I was so excited when my good friend Laurie Davis asked me to take photos of her adorable little girl. She was just 9 days old when these were taken. I was amazed at how well she did. What a little model she is. Here are some of my faves from the session.

I love her little pink dress! So cute :)

My husband had given me some flowers for Valentine’s Day and they worked perfect for the session.

Laurie and her hubby did such a beautiful job decorating Maddy’s nursery. I love the stripes they painted on the wall and all the little details. I also got an image of the family in the nursery. Maddy was all sleepy from the session and ready for a nap.

One more of adorable Miss Maddy with her big flower headband. Thanks Maddy for being such a great model and I am sure I’ll be taking lots of photos of you in the future.

2009 Year in Review: Yuma Photographer

The past year has been an amazing year for me both personally and professionally. On a personal note, my husband and I found out we were expecting a baby boy and we have had so much fun watching our daughter grow and change. We are so excited about what 2010 has in store for our little family.

I was also fortunate to meet and photograph the most wonderful people. Photography is my passion and meeting new and interesting people while doing what I love is a bonus. Thank you to all my 2009 clients for letting me be a part of your lives.

I also met and worked with some of the most incredible and talented photographers. I believe that one of the best ways to improve my craft is to collaborate with others in my field. I was so fortunate to meet photographers that were willing to share ideas and I feel I have grown so much because of it. So, thanks to all the awesome photogs I met this year :)

I know its a little late, but I created a slide show of my favorite images of 2009. It might take a while to come up, but I think its worth it. Thanks again to all my 2009 clients :) I’m looking forward to what 2010 will bring!

Espinoza Family: Yuma Family Photographer

I am finally catching up on my blogging :) I took these photos a few months ago and I am so glad to finally get them up. You may remember this beautiful family from a little over a year ago when I photographed them along with their very large extended family. I was so happy to do their family portraits again! They are a stunning family! The kids are so well behaved too. We did a full session with two locations and a change of clothing and they did such a great job! They were tired by the end, but they were so sweet. I loved every minute of the session. I had a hard time picking which ones I liked best so this is a long post. The first images were taken at the Quartermaster Depot and after that we headed to West Wetlands Park for some more casual photos.

Are these kids adorable or what?

I made this one faded on purpose to give it an old and worn feel.

These next ones were processed to look older too to go with the background.

I love back lighting! This one has lots of lens flare, but I think it makes the image.

Gotta love this one of mom and the kiddos.

OK I know this one looks very serious. The kids were pretty tired and this was one of the last images I took. But there is just something about it that I like. I added some texture to it to make it a little more “artsy”.

Thank you so much Espinoza family for a wonderful session :)

Lira Wedding : Yuma Wedding Photographer

You may remember Brian from the engagement photos I took of him and his fiance, Davena, back in August. They are such a photogenic couple and we got some wonderful images. I was so happy when I was asked to be a part of their big day. They had already hired a photographer, but wanted me to take some formal and not-so formal shots of the groom and groomsmen before the ceremony. I was so happy that the guys were up for my creative ideas. I think we got some awesome images :) Thanks guys for being great sports!

Here are a few of my faves:

I love these by the pool.

Back on the Blog

I know I have been MIA on my blog so I just wanted to write a quick post to explain what has been happening. I am pregnant right now expecting a baby boy. It is an exciting time for me and my family and I feel so blessed. I have been hospitalized due to complications with this pregnancy and I was put on bed rest. It has been hard for me to not go about my normal day. Especially because I can’t pick up my 2 year old daughter. But I am so thankful that everything is going well now with the baby and with me. Because of the bed rest I have been away from my photography for a while. It has been hard for me to not pick up my camera. Thankfully, I have been taken off bed rest now and I will be able to do some photo sessions, but I will only be taking on a few sessions until my baby arrives in early April.

I would like to thank all my current and future clients for your understanding. Everyone has been been great! I would also like to thank the other Yuma photographers that have helped me out. And of course I would like to thank my family and friends for all their help and well wishes :)

I will be posting some photos that I did before my complications so stay tuned. And because a post is always better with a photo, here is the little guy himself. Isn’t he cute?

Cassie & Aspen: Yuma Portrait Photographer

I was so happy when my good friend Cassie asked me to take photos of her and her dog for her Christmas cards. Not only is Cassie gorgeous, but her dog is the cutest little Pomeranian on the planet. We had fun out in the desert and I think we got some really great images. Here are some of my favorites.

Walker Family: Yuma Family Photographer

This was a fun session! These boys remind me of my nephews. Full of energy! I love photographing kids. They are my favorite subjects. They keep me on my toes, but the result is always great and they keep me smiling. These guys were no exception. They were so good. I even got some big smiles :) The Walkers are so photogenic too, so my job was easy. Here are some of my fave photos of them.

Here are the boys. Aren’t they adorable!

Thanks Walker family for letting me take your Holiday photos :)

Bennett Family: Yuma Family Photographer

The Bennett family wanted a setting that looked like Arizona since they will not be here for long. I was so glad they found a great spot where we were sure to get some cacti and mountains in the background. They also brought along their little furry baby, Rico. I was so happy they brought him along. Not only is he cute, but he was the perfect doggie model. The Bennetts were so great to work with and we laughed for most of the session. Thanks you guys :)

Here are some photos of this beautiful family.

Amber is a very talented dancer. A long time ago I danced so I was excited for her to do some moves for the camera.

Miss Sierra: Yuma Portrait Photographer

You may remember this adorable little girl from a family session I did earlier this year. I was so excited to take photos of her again for her family’s Christmas cards. She is so adorable and she has such an outgoing personality. You just got to be quick because she is always moving :)

Here are some of my favorites from the session.

I love using strong back light in photos. Here the sun was setting and I love the effect.

I don’t use textures a lot, but I did for this photo. In this photo I used a texture by Melissa Squires from A Girl in Love Photography. I really love her work and her textures are awesome :)

Thank you Sierra for being such a wonderful model!
