Mia C. : 2018 Gila Ridge High School Senior

Mia is a Gila Ridge senior that will be graduating this spring. I had an amazing time photographing her! She has a wonderful personality and was up for anything during the session. She is also gorgeous which always makes my job easier.

Mia had some creative ideas of her own for the session which I always enjoy and welcome. We started the session at my studio located in downtown Yuma. She wanted to incorporate some old sheet music into her session because she was active in her school choir. She wore a black dress which is similar to the dresses she wears for her performances. I took some different images of her in the studio with the music as a prop. I love that she brought the sheet music along as I think it helps tells the story of her high school career.

After the studio we headed to an old train depot in downtown Yuma for more images in her choir dress. This time she added red shoes for a pop of color. Her outfit juxtaposed again the old rusty door made for an interesting image.

After some in her black dress she changed into a more casual outfit and we stayed at the old building for more urban looking images. She wore some light pink sneakers this time around to add a hint of color to her black and white outfit.

For her third outfit Mia changed into a romper with a long train in the back which gives the illusion of a dress at certain angles. I loved this outfit because it looked amazing on her and gave some versatility to the images. We decided to head over to West Wetlands Park which isn’t too far from downtown to have a more natural background for her final look. We took some on the beach area near the river and in the river too. We were so lucky that evening to get an incredible Arizona sunset. We don’t get clouds often in Yuma, but when we do the sunsets are simply amazing. The sky had pinks, oranges , yellows and reds that evening. I kept shooting to get all the different phases of the sunset. It was a wonderful background to compliment Mia’s outfit.

I also took some after the sun went down to capture the sky at dusk. I love when clients trust to enough to stay until the light is just right to get a couple of artsy images.
