Aliana 2018 senior : Yuma Photographer

I worked with Aliana’s mom when I first moved to Yuma as an art teacher. Seems like ages ago. It was so nice to hear from her again and I was happy she hired me to photograph her daughter’s senior portraits. Aliana is a natural in front of the camera. She is spunky and fun and I wanted her session to capture her personality.

We started the session in downtown Yuma . The artist MOMO had just visited Yuma and painted some incredible murals around downtown and I knew they would be a perfect backdrop for her session. We also took some with the brick walls and a fire escapes around downtown for some more urban images. After that we headed to an open desert area which was the perfect location for Aliana’s electric blue dress. I loved how it looked on her and stood out for the background. She was previously in pageants so she brought along one of her gowns that she had worn to one of them. I knew the perfect location was this dilapidated building just outside of Yuma. These are some of favorites of her with an emerald green gown with the building at dusk. We ended the session at the “Welcome to Yuma” sign on Main street.
