Sheila & Rocky: Yuma Wedding Photograher

Rocky and Sheila got married on a gorgeous March day in Yuma, Arizona. They decided to hold both their ceremony and reception at the Yuma Territorial Prison. Some might think this is an unusual location for a wedding to take place, but I thought it was an amazing idea. First, it has so much rich history. Secondly, it has unique architecture, beautiful grounds and an incredible view overlooking the Colorado River. The day went so smoothly, the weather was perfect and I think all the guests had a great time.

Sheila and Rocky are a wonderful couple. You can tell how much they care for each other. They both are very kind and it was so fun to photograph them, their family and friends. They are also both super photogenic. We got so many amazing images of them together! My favorites are the ones we took that evening overlooking the entire reception. There was a beautiful sunset which made for some stunning photographs. So glad I got to be a part of their special day and capture these memories they will cherish for years to come.

I would like to say a big “thank you” to my second photographer for the day Geoff from The Montgomery Production Co. He is so much fun to work with and he did an awesome job! The whole day went smoothly and the reception was a fun ending to a wonderful day.

We took some pre-ceremony images of Sheila, bridesmaids and flower girl downtown at Lute’s Casino.

Geoff got some fun images of Rocky and the groomsmen at Jimmy Dee’s before the ceremony.

Lisa Brazeel of A Garden Party at Fortuna Floral designed and decorated the entire event.

She did an amazing job with everything right down to the small little touches like the box the ring bearer carried.

Rocky and Sheila decided to do a first look before the ceremony. I always love this because it gives the couple a few minutes before the ceremony to see each other and have a private moment.

Geoff got some fun images of the guys with the jail cells before the ceremony.

We took some images of the ladies in the back area of the prison.

The entire wedding party was gorgeous and so fun to work with.

Sheila’s dad gave her away during the ceremony.

I loved the amazing view of the train bridge behind the ceremony space.

We had fun using the unique architecture to create amazing images.

The reception was so fun and beautiful!

My favorite image from the day!
