2011 Year in Review: Yuma Photographer

2011 was a year of some adjustments and changes. We sold our first house which was bittersweet because it was the first home for both of our children. It was sad to see that house go because we had so many great memories there, but we are looking forward to the completion of our new home. This year flew by just like last year did. My kids are growing so fast. So glad I have all the photos to remember their little faces.

This year Jimmy stayed home with me while I worked. It has been a challenge because he is always into something. He likes to climb too so I am always on alert when he is running around. It is nice to be able to take breaks from editing and emails to give him hugs and watch him play.  So glad I have a job that allows me to do that 🙂 My little girl is in preschool this year and in the fall she will be going to kindergarten. I can’t believe how big she is getting. She started dance classes this year at Yuma Ballet Academy. She absolutely loves it!

My business has grown again this year. I am so grateful to all my fabulous clients! I have so many that return to me every year and I get to watch their families grow. I also got to meet so many new people this year and got to be part of their lives. This year I photographed four weddings and a vow renewal. It was wonderful being a part of these special occasions. I have say “thanks” to my second shooter Chris Bermudo. He helped me with two of my Yuma weddings this year. He is a talented photographer and an awesome guy. I also got the chance to second shoot for Melissa Jill of Melissa Jill Photography. She is a fabulously talented photographer from Phoenix. It was so great to get the opportunity to work with her 🙂

This year I got to attend WPPI 2011 in Las Vegas for the first time. It is a conference and trade show for wedding and portrait photographers. It was such a wonderful experience. I met lots of other photographers from all over, attended classes and got some killer photo gear. I went with my good friend and fellow Yuma photographer Tawnee Miller of Serendipity Photography. We had a great time and I can’t wait to go again this year! And I also have to say “thanks” to Tawnee for taking my family photos every year. She is fabulous!

I have put together a little slide show of my sessions and events that I photographed this year. I can’t wait for what 2012 will bring!
