One of the first questions I hear from high school seniors and parents is, “Where should we take senior pictures in Yuma?” The good news is that Yuma offers a surprising variety of beautiful locations. Whether you are drawn to modern architecture, lush greenery, desert landscapes, or somewhere that is uniquely personal to you, we can create a senior portrait session that reflects your personality and style.
Every senior session begins with a planning consultation where we discuss locations, wardrobe, colors, and the overall vision for your portraits. Here are a few of my favorite locations for senior pictures in Yuma, Arizona.

If you love an editorial, urban look, Historic Downtown Yuma is one of my favorite locations.
The colorful buildings, weathered brick walls, historic architecture, and charming streets create endless opportunities for modern senior portraits. As the sun sets, the vintage streetlights add even more atmosphere, making downtown especially beautiful for evening sessions.
Just a short walk away is the iconic Ocean to Ocean Bridge, which provides a unique architectural backdrop that pairs beautifully with both casual and dressy outfits.

For seniors who love nature, West Wetlands Park offers one of the most diverse backdrops in Yuma.
The cottonwood trees, peaceful walking paths, open grassy areas, and beautiful views of the Colorado River create a completely different feel than downtown. During sunset, the light reflecting across the water creates some of my favorite images of the year.
If you love greenery, water, and a relaxed outdoor setting, West Wetlands is an excellent choice.

Nothing says Arizona quite like our desert.
This area features wide-open views of the mountains, spectacular sunsets, native desert plants, and seasonal wildflowers in the spring. There are also beautiful weeping willow trees nearby that add unexpected variety to your gallery.
This location is perfect for seniors who want to embrace the beauty of the Southwest while still keeping their portraits modern and editorial.

Some of my favorite portraits are created in rustic locations with character and texture.
Weathered buildings, vintage architectural details, open views of downtown, and incredible sunsets all come together to create portraits with a unique editorial feel. These locations photograph beautifully both during golden hour and after sunset when the city lights begin to glow.

Some of the most memorable senior sessions happen in places that mean something personally to you.
Over the years I have photographed seniors at In-N-Out Burger, Jack in the Box, baseball fields, golf courses, track facilities, schools, family property, and even locations where they work.
Choosing a meaningful location helps tell your story and creates portraits that feel authentic and uniquely yours.
There are no rules when it comes to creating your perfect senior portrait experience. If a location is important to you, I would love to incorporate it into your session.

Your senior portraits should be more than simply taking pictures. My goal is to create an experience that reflects your personality, style, and interests from beginning to end.
Together we will plan your wardrobe, select locations that complement your vision, and create a session that feels effortless while producing polished, editorial-inspired portraits you’ll be proud to share for years to come.
